The Storm Glass is a traditional tool that indicates the weather based on the state of the crystals in the liquid. This medium-sized drop made of clear glass has a height of 16.3 cm and a diameter of 7.7 cm, standing on a wooden base. Inside is a sealed mixture of distilled water, alcohol, potassium nitrate, ammonium chloride, and camphor. With changes in temperature and weather, white crystals form, dissolve, and grow again within it. This means that each view of the glass is slightly different, and the decoration never looks the same.
Based on the appearance of the liquid and crystals, one can estimate what to expect. Clear liquid indicates clear weather, cloudy liquid suggests overcast conditions, and tiny stars in the liquid may herald snow. If the goods need to be sent back, we will refund the postage for a valid claim (just provide the receipt).
