Handheld Microphones
Direct contact with the audience or listeners requires a microphone that fits well in the hand and responds to the voice in real time. Handheld microphones are used for singing, presenting and public appearances. Both dynamic and condenser variants are available, suitable for various environments and demands on sound quality.
Handheld Microphones
The handheld design is among the most commonly used types of microphone for live sound. Thanks to simple holding and immediate control over the distance from the mouth, handheld microphones are suitable for singing, presenting and spoken word in various environments.
In terms of construction, you will mainly encounter dynamic microphones, which handle higher volume well and are resistant to more demanding conditions. Alongside them there are also condenser microphones, which offer more sensitive pickup and more detailed sound, better suited to a controlled environment.
The resulting sound is affected not only by the type of microphone but also by the way it is used. The correct distance from the mouth and the polar pattern are important, helping to reduce ambient noise. In practice, a cardioid polar pattern is often used, which picks up mainly the sound from the front.
The choice of a specific model depends on where and how the microphone will be used. For the stage, more durable variants are suitable, while for a quieter environment a more sensitive solution may be more appropriate. Handheld microphones thus remain a universal tool for working with sound in various situations.
