Ice scrapers and snow brushes for cars
Frozen and snow-covered windows are part of winter mornings, but with the right kit your car is quickly ready to go. Choose from ice scrapers, snow brushes with telescopic handles, 2-in-1 combination models and scrapers with a built-in glove.

For frost and ice on the windscreen, the quickest option is an ice scraper with a rigid plastic blade that won't scratch the glass. The ridged side breaks up thicker ice first, then the straight edge clears it completely. A scraper with a wool glove keeps your hands warm even when you have to scrape for a while.
A snow brush with dense but soft bristles sweeps snow off the roof, bonnet and windows without damaging the paintwork. For SUVs and vans, a telescopic handle is worth having, letting you reach the middle of the roof. 2-in-1 models have a brush at one end and a scraper at the other.
Before setting off, clear snow and ice from all windows, lights, mirrors and the roof so that snow doesn't fall onto the windscreen or the cars behind you while driving. Never pour hot water on a frozen windscreen, as a sudden change in temperature can crack it. Compact scrapers fit in the door pocket, so they're always to hand whenever there's a frost overnight.
