Garden hammocks

A hung spot for swinging rest in the garden, on the terrace or on the go. Garden hammocks include classic models with and without a spreader bar, fabric and net versions, one- and two-person pieces, and hammocks with their own stand. They differ in material, load capacity and the way they hang, so it is easy to choose one to hang between trees or on a stand, with no drilling needed.

Garden hammocks

Lying in a gently swinging hammock is one of the most pleasant ways to rest outdoors. Garden hammocks are hung between two trees, from hooks or on their own stand and offer a comfortable spot for reading, a nap and lazing about. They are chosen by the way they hang, the number of people, the load capacity and the material that copes with staying outdoors.

The most widespread are classic hammocks. Models with a spreader bar stay open and are easy to get into, hammocks without a bar mould to the body and pack down small. The net version (knotted) is airy, the fabric version in cotton or canvas is softer and warmer; one- and two-person sizes differ in load capacity.

Without trees, hammocks with a stand come in handy. A free-standing metal or wooden stand holds the hammock anywhere on the terrace, the balcony and indoors, with no drilling or searching for anchor points. Travel and camping models in light parachute fabric are hung and taken down quickly with straps and take up minimal space in a backpack.

The material and load capacity are decisive. Cotton and canvas are pleasant against the skin and suit the garden, synthetic nylon dries quickly and copes better with moisture and sun. The load capacity is given in kilograms and is best chosen with a margin, higher still for two-person models. Hooks, chains and hanging straps are often included or can be bought separately.
