Stools and footstools

Small, versatile pieces that add an extra seat and a comfortable rest for the feet. Stools and footstools include upholstered and wooden backless stools, soft poufs, models with storage, and low footstools beside the armchair to take the weight off the legs. They differ in height, shape, cover and function, so you will find a seat for a guest, a footrest by the relax armchair and a practical stool with storage.

Stools and footstools

Sometimes a single extra piece of furniture is enough — to sit at the vanity, rest your feet by the armchair or seat a guest. Stools and footstools do exactly that and move easily to wherever they are needed at the moment. They are chosen by height, shape, cover and whether they mainly serve for sitting or for resting the feet.

Stools add an extra seat. A low backless seat works at the vanity, in the hallway for putting on shoes and as an extra spot for visitors. Upholstered poufs are soft and light, wooden and plastic stools hard-wearing, and models with a lift-up seat and storage hide blankets or toys.

Footstools serve to rest the legs. A low footstool in front of the armchair or sofa lets you stretch out your legs and take the weight off while reading or watching television. The height is chosen to match the armchair seat, upholstered models add softness, and larger pieces also work as a surface or an extra seat.

Cover and use determine practicality. Fabric and velvet feel soft, faux leather and leather wipe clean easily, and rattan and wood suit a natural interior. Many pieces fill several roles at once — seat, footrest and storage — and their size and style are matched to the armchair, the sofa and the rest of the furniture.
