Self-defence and personal alarms
Self-defence accessories and personal alarms help you call for help or deter an attacker on the way home or when travelling. Choose from keyrings with a siren and LED light, a smart alarm with an app, an alarm with a motion sensor, key sets with a whistle and glass breaker, tactical pens and gloves with knuckle reinforcement.
Self-defence and personal alarms
The basis is keyring-style personal alarms. Pulling the pin sets off a 125–130 dB siren, according to the manufacturer, and a flashing LED that draw attention and catch an attacker off guard. Most charge via USB-C and some also trigger with a double press of the SOS button. The smart keyring pairs with the Tuya app via Bluetooth and can alert your phone when triggered.
The motion sensor alarm detects movement within about 3 m and guards a door or luggage with a 120 dB siren. Key sets combine an alarm, whistle and glass breaker with a seatbelt cutter. The tactical pen with glass breaker writes normally, the stainless steel self-defence key also opens bottles, and gloves with steel knuckle reinforcement protect your hands on a motorbike too.
Keep the alarm handy and check now and then that it is charged. In danger, the best defence is to get away and call for help on 112 or 999. Before carrying self-defence accessories, check the local rules and use them only proportionately.
