Noticeboards, whiteboards and chalkboards
Notes, plans and important dates should always be in sight, whether at the office, at school or at home. Noticeboards, whiteboards and chalkboards cover cork and fabric pin boards, magnetic whiteboards for dry-wipe markers, classic chalkboards and flip charts for meetings and presentations.
Noticeboards, whiteboards and chalkboards
A clear surface for notes saves time and helps keep tasks on track. Noticeboards, whiteboards and chalkboards differ mainly in whether information is pinned up or written directly on the surface.
Cork noticeboards are the classic choice for messages, timetables and photos held with drawing pins. Fabric boards look more understated and suit meeting rooms and home offices. Where space is tight, boards with hooks or pockets are practical.
Whiteboards are written on with dry-wipe markers and are usually magnetic too. A lacquered surface is fine for occasional use, while enamel or ceramic surfaces are more durable and wipe clean more easily. Chalkboards have a distinctive look, so they are also used as menu boards in cafés or as kitchen decor.
When choosing, consider size, mounting and accessories. Boards can hang on the wall, stand on an easel or be double-sided. Magnets, markers, erasers and cleaning sprays are useful and help extend the life of the surface.
