Overview
Smart Soil Moisture Sensor Zigbee 3.0 150 x 30 x 18 mm Light Temperature and Humidity Measurement for Home Assistant and Zigbee2MQTT

The smart soil moisture sensor in the Zigbee 3.0 version helps monitor houseplants, flowers in pots, garden beds, and seedlings in the greenhouse, sending the measured values directly to your smart home. In addition to soil moisture, it also tracks air temperature and humidity and light intensity, so you can see the data that determines the healthy growth of plants all in one place. This version is designed for Home Assistant and Zigbee2MQTT and requires a Zigbee gateway for operation. This version does not support the Tuya app, making it mainly suitable for users who have their own home automation system. Simply insert the sensor into the soil, and the values will update in the system whenever the state changes.

The sensor body is compact and unobtrusive, with overall dimensions of 150 x 30 x 18 mm. The upper part with electronics measures 68 mm, and the flat probe that inserts into the soil is 82 mm long. There is a reset button at the front, and above it, a small indicator; next to the air temperature and humidity sensors, there is also a light intensity sensor within the body. The sensor is powered by two AAA batteries, which are inserted under the cover at the top. The temperature can be displayed in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit.

  • Version – Zigbee 3.0 for Home Assistant and Zigbee2MQTT without Tuya app support
  • Measured Values – soil moisture, air temperature, air humidity, and light intensity
  • Connection – wirelessly via Zigbee gateway
  • Temperature Units – °C and °F
  • Power Supply – 2 AAA batteries (LR03), not included
  • Dimensions – 150 x 30 x 18 mm, probe length 82 mm
  • Water Resistance – the plant can be watered from above, the sensor must not be submerged in water
  • Pairing – by holding the reset button for 3 seconds
  • Suitable For – houseplants in pots, gardens, orchards, and greenhouses
  • Package Contents – 1 smart soil moisture sensor

Before first use, insert two AAA batteries into the sensor, which need to be purchased separately. Then hold the reset button for three seconds; the sensor will enter pairing mode, and you can add it to your Zigbee network. Insert the probe into the soil near the plant's roots so that the upper part with electronics remains above the surface. Since the batteries are inside the sensor body, you can safely water the plant from above, but never submerge the sensor in water. For accurate measurement, it is advisable to place it in locations where it receives similar light as the plant itself.

The Zigbee 3.0 sensor is a practical assistant for anyone who wants to keep track of their plants' condition within the Home Assistant system. It monitors soil moisture, the climate around the plant, and light intensity, making it easy to know when to water or move the plant. Thanks to its small dimensions, it fits into standard pots as well as outdoor beds. Power is supplied by 2 AAA batteries, which are easily replaced under the top cover. You can also use the values in automations, such as for watering reminders.
