The rain chain with cups decorated with a grid pattern is a decorative alternative to the downpipe, which diverts water from the roof while enlivening the appearance of the house. It hangs below the outlet of the gutter, and rainwater flows down from cup to cup until it reaches the ground. The total length of the chain is 270 cm, making it suitable for higher ground floor houses, garages, garden sheds, pergolas, and covered terraces. Hang the chain with the hook under the gutter outlet so that the water falls directly into the upper cup. The lower end can hang freely above a rainwater barrel, stone container, gravel bed, or flowerbed, or you can anchor it to the ground to reduce swaying in the wind. If the gutter is lower than 270 cm above the ground, allow the lower part of the chain to rest in a container or on stones. Occasionally remove any trapped leaves and debris from the cups by hand and rinse the chain with clean water.
