The pH and chlorine testing kit for water is designed for regular monitoring of water quality in pools, hot tubs, spas, hot springs, and drinking water. The tester operates using the drop method: an indicator solution is added to the water sample, and the resulting colour is compared with the colour scale on the colour comparator. With one test, you can determine the pH value in the range of 6.8–8.2 and with the other the residual chlorine content in the range of 0.2–3.0 ppm. The numbers on the colour scales are clearly readable, so you can read the result without any additional instruments; just your hands and eyes are needed. All components are stored in a compact blue plastic box approximately 15 cm long, which is easy to carry and store.

Main Features:

  • Combined water test – measuring pH and residual chlorine in one portable kit.
  • pH scale – values 6.8 / 7.2 / 7.6 / 7.8 / 8.2, ideal pH for pool water is 7.2–7.6.
  • Chlorine scale – values 0.2 / 0.6 / 1.0 / 1.5 / 3.0 ppm, ideal residual chlorine content is 1.0–1.5 ppm.
  • Two indicator solutions – phenol red for the pH test and OTO (orthotolidine) for the chlorine test.
  • Two test tubes with colour-coded caps – red for pH and yellow for chlorine, with a mark for correct sample filling.
  • Transparent colour comparator with colour scales on both sides of the tubes for easy comparison of the sample colour.
  • Simple procedure – rinse the tube with the tested water, fill it to the mark, add drops of the reagent, close with the cap, shake, and compare the colour with the scale.
  • Sample collection – it is advisable to take water from a depth of approximately 40 cm below the surface.
  • Universal use – pools, hot tubs, spas, hot springs, and drinking water.
  • Compact box – length approx. 15 cm, blue colour, with a brief measurement guide on the inside of the lid.
  • Contents of the package: 1× testing box, 1× pH reagent, 1× OTO reagent, 1× set of test tubes with colour comparator.

The pool water tester is suitable for pool and hot tub owners as well as anyone who wants to keep track of pH and chlorine levels in the water. If during the pH test the residual chlorine content is higher than 3.0 ppm, the result may be inaccurate; therefore, it is advisable to first reduce the chlorine level and only then carry out further tests. To maintain measurement accuracy, it is recommended to use new solutions at the beginning of each season. The reagents are harmful if ingested and may cause burns, so store the kit out of reach of children in a cool, dark place. Thanks to its compact size, you can always have the testing kit on hand right by the pool.
