Overview
Pendulum Stirling Engine with Generator and LED Bulb Dual-Cylinder Hot Air Model 16 x 8.7 x 11 cm Metal Gold Physics Experiment

This dual-cylinder pendulum Stirling engine is a functional model of a hot air engine with external combustion, which visually demonstrates the conversion of heat into motion and subsequently into electricity. The two cylinders are positioned side by side on a common metal base, and their pistons transfer motion through a pair of pendulums to the flywheel. The model measures 16 x 8.7 x 11 cm, making it comfortably fit on a work desk, shelf, or in a display case. The gold metal parts combined with the silver base serve as both a technical decoration and an educational tool. It is suitable for enthusiasts of physics, engineering, and modelling, as well as an interesting gift.

Heating is provided by two alcohol burners, which are placed under the hot ends of the cylinders. Once the air in the cylinders is heated, simply give the flywheel a light spin and the engine will start running on its own. The flywheel drives a small generator on the base through a rubber belt, which produces current for the connected LED bulb. Thus, the entire chain from heat to mechanical movement to light can be observed on one model. The pendulums, connecting rods, and flywheel are clearly visible, making it easy to explain how the individual parts move in relation to each other and why the engine only runs when there is a temperature difference.

  • Type – functional model of a Stirling hot air engine with external combustion
  • Design – dual-cylinder engine with pendulums and flywheel
  • Dimensions – 16 x 8.7 x 11 cm
  • Material – metal
  • Colour – gold engine parts and silver base
  • Power Source – heat from two alcohol burners
  • Output – generator driven by a belt from the flywheel and LED bulb
  • Usage – physics experiments and teaching, and technical decoration
  • Package Contents – model of a dual-cylinder Stirling engine with generator on a metal base and LED bulb, and 2 alcohol burners with wicks (alcohol not included)

Alcohol, which is not included, is poured into the burners. Use the engine on a stable, non-flammable surface, away from flammable objects, and always under the supervision of an adult. The hot ends of the cylinders remain warm for some time after being turned off, so do not touch them until they have cooled down. Extinguish the burners after use by placing the lids on and allow them to cool. It is advisable to occasionally dust and lightly lubricate the moving parts to ensure the engine runs smoothly.

The pendulum Stirling engine combines a functional physics experiment with the attractive appearance of a metal model. With two cylinders and pendulums, the motion of the engine is clearly visible, and the transfer of power through the belt to the generator can be easily tracked. The lit LED bulb is direct evidence that the heat of the flame has been converted into electrical energy. This model will be appreciated by students, teachers, parents with children, and adult collectors of technical toys. The metal construction with a sturdy base keeps the model stable in place while in operation.
