The metal lens hood with openings for 58 mm filter threaded lenses prevents side light from entering the lens at sharp angles. Shots against the light or in bright sunlight will have less flare, less ghosting, and better contrast. The hood easily screws onto the thread on the front of the lens and requires no additional adapter. The set also includes a lens cap that protects the front lens in a bag and during transport. The body of the hood is made of metal with a black finish and features longitudinal openings known from classic ventilated hoods. According to the manufacturer, you can continue to use the lens cap and filter with the hood attached, so there is no need to switch them out while shooting. The cap can be attached and removed by pressing two grips in the middle, which can be done with one hand. The hood is useful for photographing landscapes, architecture, sports, and portraits outdoors in bright sunlight.

Before attaching the hood, clean the lens thread and screw the hood on lightly without unnecessary force. The metal surface only needs to be wiped occasionally with a dry or slightly damp microfiber cloth. Before storing the camera in a bag or backpack, attach the cap to prevent the front lens from getting dirty or scratched.
