The lyre harp is a small string instrument that can be played by plucking with fingers or a plectrum, and is manageable even for complete beginners. This lyre has 16 strings and its tonal range is sufficient for simple melodies, children's and folk songs, as well as calm improvisations. It belongs to the cabinet type, featuring a hollow resonant body that amplifies the vibrations of the strings, providing a fuller and longer sustain to the tone. The surface of the instrument is made of mahogany veneer with delicately engraved plant ornaments and a motif of a stag's head. The upper part of the frame is adorned with two carved horns, giving the lyre a characteristic ancient appearance.
