The Hluru thumb piano features 34 metal keys arranged in two rows, making it an instrument with a significantly wider range than standard kalimbas. The lower row is used for the main melody while the upper row complements the semitones, allowing you to play pieces outside the basic scale. The kalimba is tuned to the key of C, making it suitable for solo play, accompaniment to singing, and playing from sheet music. The body is made from black walnut and is adorned with an embossed tree of life motif. The instrument does not have a resonant hole; it features a solid wooden board.
With approximate dimensions of 18 x 14 cm, the kalimba is easy to hold in both hands, and both thumbs can easily reach the upper and lower rows of keys. The keys are mounted on a sturdy wooden bridge, and the seller states that the keys in the lower row can also be retuned. The tone markings on the keys are not engraved. The package includes stickers with notes that you can apply yourself, and when you retune the instrument, you can easily replace them. The upper row sits just above the lower row, allowing you to transition between rows with a quick thumb movement. You will quickly get used to the layout of the keys even if you have previously only played on a single-row kalimba.

The included pickup with cable allows you to amplify the kalimba, so you can be heard while playing with a band, at a small performance, or when recording songs. With the tuning hammer, you can gently push the key in or out to adjust its pitch. The songbook in English contains pieces that will help you practice playing in both rows. After each use, simply wipe the instrument with the provided cloth and store it in the case for safe transport. Protect the kalimba from direct sunlight and moisture to keep the wood and keys in good condition.
The Kalimba Hluru in tuning C is designed for players who want more tones and the ability to play semitones, but do not want to give up a small portable instrument. - We will settle your claim within 30 days at the latest – with a new item, a price reduction or a refund.
If the goods need to be sent back, we will refund the postage for a valid claim (just provide the receipt).

Write to us within 30 days of receipt at info@lunzo.ie with your order number and the variant you are interested in. We usually reply within 24 hours.
If the variant is available, we will send you instructions for the exchange. You pay the cost of sending the original item back; the new variant will be sent to you at no further charge.
