Heat Shrink Tubing with Adhesive 8 mm 1 m Shrink Ratio 4:1 Double-Walled Polyolefin Black Sealing of Strong Cable Joints and Cable Lugs

This double-walled heat shrink tubing with adhesive, with a diameter of 8 mm, is designed for connections of thicker cables, cable lugs, and connectors. The internal diameter before shrinking is 8 mm, and due to the shrink ratio of 4:1, the tubing shrinks down to 2 mm when heated. Inside, there is a layer of hot melt adhesive that melts with heat and seals the joint from the inside. The finished joint is electrically insulated and protected against moisture, corrosion, and dirt. The package contains 1 m of tubing, which you can cut into the required lengths.

The tubing consists of two layers. The outer layer made of polyolefin is abrasion-resistant and protects the joint during cable movement, while the internal adhesive solidifies upon cooling and strengthens the joint. After shrinking, the wall thickness is approximately 1.2 mm, with the adhesive layer making up about 0.5 mm. The material is self-extinguishing. The 8 mm diameter is suitable for thicker power conductors, battery cables, cable lugs, larger connectors, and bundles of several cables. One metre is ideal for a one-time repair or minor adjustments to wiring in a car, motorcycle, boat, or workshop.

Compared to single-walled tubing without adhesive, this version offers much better protection against water ingress. It is therefore particularly useful for cables that are outdoors or in demanding environments, such as powering winches, connections to solar panels, rear vehicle lights, or electrical installations in caravans.

Before joining, slide a piece of tubing onto the conductor and after completing the joint, move it over the centre. Heat it evenly all around with a hot air gun until it tightly shrinks and adhesive appears at the edges. The adhesive melts at a temperature of 100 °C. Work from the centre of the joint to the edges to allow air to escape. Move the cable only after cooling.

The black double-walled tubing with adhesive, with a diameter of 8 mm, protects the joints of strong cables, cable lugs, and larger connectors. The layer of hot melt adhesive seals the joint against water and reinforces it against tension. The metre package is suitable for quick repairs in cars, boats, and home workshops. Cut the required piece, slide it onto the conductor, and heat it. Keep the remaining tubing for future repairs.
