Heat Shrink Tubing with Adhesive 6 mm 1 m Shrink Ratio 4:1 Double-Walled Polyolefin Black Waterproof Insulation for Cable and Connector Joints

The heat shrink tubing with adhesive, with a diameter of 6 mm, is designed for permanent insulation and sealing of thicker cable joints. The internal diameter before shrinking is 6 mm and, due to the shrink ratio of 4:1, the tubing shrinks down to 1.5 mm upon heating. Inside, there is a layer of hot melt adhesive that melts when heated and encases the conductor and joint. The result is an electrically insulated joint protected against moisture, corrosion, and dirt. The packaging contains 1 m of tubing, which you can cut into the required lengths.

The tubing has two layers. The outer layer made of polyolefin is abrasion-resistant and protects the joint when bending the cable, while the inner adhesive hardens upon cooling and reinforces the joint. After shrinking, the wall thickness is approximately 1.1 mm, with the adhesive layer being about 0.4 mm. The material is self-extinguishing. One metre is ideal for a one-time repair or several joints. The 6 mm diameter is suitable for thicker wires, cable lugs, connectors, or bundles of several thin cables. It is applicable in cars, motorcycles, boats, caravans, during lighting installations, and in workshops.

Unlike standard single-walled tubing, the version with adhesive protects the joint against water wicking along the conductor. Therefore, it proves effective for cabling exposed to rain, splashing water, salt spread, or condensation, for example, in trailer lights, supply lines to pumps, garden lighting, or electrical installations in caravans and boats.

Slide the tubing onto the conductor before making the connection and, after completing the joint, move it over the centre of the joint. Heat it evenly around the circumference with a heat gun until it tightly shrinks and the adhesive oozes out from the edges. The adhesive melts at temperatures from 100 °C. Direct the heat from the centre to the edges to allow air to escape from the joint. Handle the joint only after it has cooled down.

The black heat shrink tubing with adhesive, with a diameter of 6 mm, is suitable for insulating and sealing thicker wires and connectors. The layer of hot melt adhesive creates a waterproof joint resistant to moisture and shocks. A length of 1 m is sufficient for a small repair of cabling in a car, garden, or home. Simply cut the tubing to the required length and heat with a heat gun. The joint then looks neat and lasts a long time.
