If you work with wiring frequently, you will appreciate this heat shrink tubing with adhesive in a longer length. The internal diameter before shrinking is 4 mm, and due to the shrink ratio of 4:1, the tubing shrinks down to 1 mm when heated. The inner layer of adhesive melts, adheres to the conductor, and perfectly seals the connection. The finished connection is protected against moisture, corrosion, and dirt while also being electrically insulated. The package contains 5 m of tubing, from which you can cut dozens of custom lengths.
The tubing has two layers. The outer polyolefin layer resists abrasion and protects the connection when bending the cable, while the inner adhesive layer hardens upon cooling and strengthens the connection. After shrinking, the wall thickness is approximately 1.0 mm and the adhesive layer is about 0.4 mm. The material is self-extinguishing. The longer length is suitable for automotive electricians, model makers, electricians, and DIY enthusiasts who are wiring lighting, repairing vehicle wiring, or assembling electronics. The tubing can also be used to protect cable loops, connectors, soldered joints, or areas with worn insulation. With the increased length, you do not have to worry about running out of material in the middle of a wiring job.

Slide the tubing onto the wire before soldering or crimping, and after completing the connection, move it over the joint. Heat it with a hot air gun evenly around the circumference until it tightly shrinks and the adhesive oozes out from the edges. A temperature of at least 100 °C is required to melt the adhesive. Allow the connection to cool before further handling the cable. When heating, work from the centre of the joint towards the edges to allow air to escape and the adhesive to distribute evenly.
