Heat Shrink Tubing with Adhesive 20 mm 1 m Shrink Ratio 4:1 Double-Walled PE Black Waterproof Seals for Thick Cables Cable Loops and Connectors

The double-walled heat shrink tubing with adhesive, with a diameter of 20 mm, is designed for insulating and sealing joints of thick cables, large cable loops, connectors, and wire bundles. Before shrinking, it has an internal diameter of 20 mm and, thanks to the shrink ratio of 4:1, it shrinks down to 5 mm when heated. This tightly encases joints where the thickness varies significantly, such as the transition from cable insulation to a crimped eyelet. The internal layer of hot melt adhesive melts with heat and seals the joint from the inside against water and moisture. The package contains 1 m of tubing, which you can cut into pieces as needed.

The tubing has two layers. The outer sheath made of polyolefin protects the joint from abrasion and mechanical damage, while the internal adhesive hardens upon cooling, bonding the tubing to the insulation and reinforcing the joint against tension. After shrinking, the wall thickness is approximately 2.0 mm, with the adhesive layer comprising about 0.6 mm. The material is self-extinguishing. The 20 mm diameter is suitable for heavy-duty power and battery cables, starter and welding cables, large cable loops and connectors, as well as for bundling several wires into one harness. One metre is sufficient for a one-off repair or minor modification of power cabling.

Compared to tubing without adhesive, this version provides much better protection against water ingress along the conductor. It is therefore particularly suitable for cables that are outdoors or in damp environments, such as for connections to a winch, cabling to a car battery, wiring for solar panels, powering pumps, or electrical installations on boats.

Before connecting, slide a piece of tubing onto the cable and move it over the joint after completing the connection. Heat it evenly from all sides with a heat gun until it tightly shrinks and adhesive appears at the edges. The adhesive melts at a temperature of 100 °C. Work from the centre of the joint towards the edges to allow air to escape, and move the cable only after it has completely cooled.

The black double-walled tubing with adhesive, with a diameter of 20 mm, protects joints of thick cables, large cable loops, and wire bundles. The layer of hot melt adhesive seals the joint against water and reinforces it against tension. The one-metre package is ideal for quick repairs in cars, garages, workshops, and on boats. Simply cut the required length, slide it onto the cable, and heat it. Keep the remaining tubing for future repairs.
