The double-walled heat shrink tubing with adhesive, with a diameter of 18 mm, is designed for insulating and sealing joints of heavy conductors, cable lugs, terminals, and cable bundles. Thanks to the shrink ratio of 4:1, it shrinks to approximately a quarter of its diameter when heated, ensuring a tight fit even at joints with varying thicknesses, such as the transition from cable insulation to a crimped lug. Inside, there is a layer of hot melt adhesive that melts upon heating, filling the gaps around the conductor and sealing the joint against water. The package contains 5 m of tubing, providing enough material for multiple joints, and it can be cut into pieces of any desired length.
The outer layer is made from polyolefin, which protects the joint against abrasion, dust, and mechanical damage. The internal adhesive solidifies upon cooling, bonding the tubing to the insulation and reinforcing the joint against pull-out and vibrations. The material is self-extinguishing. The 18 mm diameter is suitable for heavy cables connected to car batteries and starters, leads to winches, welding cables, large cable lugs, and terminals, or several conductors bundled together. Five metres is a practical supply for repairing wiring in cars, caravans, or workshops where heavy-duty connections are frequently repaired.
The adhesive prevents water from wicking along the conductor into the joint, making this tubing particularly suitable for areas where cables are exposed to moisture, rain, or de-icing salt. It can be used for wiring in vehicle undercarriages, connections to solar panels and battery storage, powering pumps, agricultural machinery, and electrical installations on boats. It is equally effective for repairing damaged insulation by sliding a piece of tubing over the affected area and heating it.

Slide the tubing onto the cable before soldering or crimping, and after completing the joint, move it over the centre of the connection. Heat it evenly around the entire circumference with a hot air gun until it tightly shrinks and adhesive appears at the edges. The adhesive melts at a temperature of 100 °C. Start heating from the middle and continue towards the edges to prevent air from being trapped under the tubing. Move the cable only after the joint has completely cooled.
The five-metre package of black double-walled tubing with a diameter of 18 mm is suitable for anyone working with heavy-duty wiring. The layer of hot melt adhesive seals the joint against moisture while also mechanically reinforcing it. The tubing can be easily cut with scissors and shrinks with a standard hot air gun. It is useful in garages, workshops, holiday homes, and on boats. Any leftover tubing can be saved for future repairs.
