Heat Shrink Tubing with Adhesive 12 mm 10 m Ratio 4:1 Double-Walled Polyolefin Insulation Black Workshop Stock for Power and Solar Cables

A large pack of double-walled heat shrink tubing with adhesive, with a diameter of 12 mm, is designed for workshops, service centres, and anyone who regularly works with heavy cables. The tubing has an internal diameter of 12 mm before shrinking and, thanks to a shrink ratio of 4:1, it can reduce to as small as 3 mm when heated. The inner layer of hot melt adhesive melts with heat, filling all gaps and sealing the joint from the inside. The finished joint is insulated, moisture-resistant, and withstands vibrations well. The pack contains 10 m of tubing, which can be cut into pieces of any desired length.

The outer layer made of polyolefin protects the joint from abrasion, surrounding oil, and mechanical damage. The adhesive solidifies upon cooling, bonding the tubing to the conductor and reinforcing the joint against pull. The wall thickness after shrinking is approximately 1.4 mm, of which about 0.5 mm is attributed to the adhesive. The material is self-extinguishing. The 12 mm diameter is suitable for heavy power and starter cables, large cable lugs, battery terminals, and bundles of several conductors. Ten metres is worthwhile for garages, electricians, and installation companies that want to have tubing readily available.

Thanks to the adhesive, water cannot travel along the conductor into the joint, making the tubing suitable even in demanding environments. It can be used with cables for solar panels and battery storage, connections to winches, marine electrical installations, agricultural machinery wiring, or outdoor distributions.

Slide the tubing onto the conductor before soldering or crimping, and after completing the joint, move it over the centre. Heat it evenly around with a hot air gun until it tightly shrinks and adhesive appears at the edges. The adhesive melts at a temperature of 100 °C. Direct the heat from the centre to the edges to allow air to escape from the joint, and handle the joint only after it has completely cooled.

The ten-metre pack of black heat shrink tubing with adhesive, with a diameter of 12 mm, is a cost-effective stock for insulating power cables. The hot melt adhesive creates a waterproof joint that resists moisture and de-icing salt. The tubing is easily cut and shrinks using a standard hot air gun. It is useful in service, in the workshop, at a solar power plant, and on a boat. Any leftover tubing can be stored for future use.
