The double-walled heat shrink tubing with an adhesive layer, with a diameter of 8 mm, is suitable for insulating and sealing connections of thicker conductors. The internal diameter before shrinking is 8 mm, and due to the shrink ratio of 4:1, the tubing shrinks down to 2 mm when heated. Upon heating, the inner layer of hot melt adhesive melts, encasing the conductor and connection while filling all gaps. The result is an insulated connection protected against moisture, corrosion, and dirt. The packaging contains 2 m of tubing for several repairs or modifications of wiring.

The tubing has two layers. The outer layer made of polyolefin resists abrasion and mechanical stress, while the inner adhesive hardens upon cooling, reinforcing the connection. After shrinking, the wall thickness is approximately 1.2 mm, with the adhesive layer being about 0.5 mm. The material is self-extinguishing. The 8 mm diameter fits thicker power cables, cable lugs, larger crimp connectors, and bundles of several thinner wires. Two metres are suitable for the equipment of automotive electricians, marine technicians, model makers, and DIY enthusiasts who are wiring lighting or repairing motorcycle wiring.

The inner adhesive prevents water from wicking along the conductor into the connection and causing corrosion. This feature is particularly useful for wiring in the vehicle's undercarriage, for trailer lighting, for feeds to pumps and winches, for outdoor wiring, and for electrical installations on boats.

Slide the tubing onto the cable before soldering or crimping, and after completing the connection, slide it over the centre. Heat it evenly around the circumference with a hot air gun until it tightly shrinks and the adhesive oozes out from the edges. The adhesive melts at temperatures starting from 100 °C. Direct the heat from the centre towards the edges to allow air to escape from the connection. Handle the connection only after it has completely cooled.

The black heat shrink tubing with adhesive, with a diameter of 8 mm, is useful wherever a stronger connection needs to be insulated and sealed. Thanks to the layer of hot melt adhesive, the connection resists moisture, salt spray, and vibrations. The 2 m length packaging is a practical addition for cars, boats, and workshops. Cut pieces as needed and heat them with a hot air gun. The finished connection is neat and strong.
