Overview
Heat Shrink Tube with Adhesive 16 mm 10 m Large Packaging Ratio 4:1 Double-Walled Polyolefin Insulation Black Supply for Power Cables and Lugs

A ten-metre pack of double-walled heat shrink tubing with adhesive, with a diameter of 16 mm, is appreciated by garages, electricians, installation companies, and DIY enthusiasts who frequently work with thick cables. Before shrinking, the tubing has an inner diameter of 16 mm and, thanks to the shrink ratio of 4:1, it shrinks down to 4 mm when heated. It tightly encases connections with significantly different thicknesses, such as crimped cable lugs or branches. The inner layer of hot melt adhesive melts with heat and seals the connection from the inside. The pack contains 10 m of tubing, which you can cut into pieces as needed.

The outer shell made of polyolefin protects the connection from abrasion, dust, and mechanical stress, while the internal adhesive hardens upon cooling, bonding the tubing to the cable insulation and reinforcing the connection against tension. The wall thickness after shrinking is approximately 1.7 mm, of which the adhesive layer makes up about 0.6 mm. The material is self-extinguishing. The 16 mm diameter is suitable for thick power cables, battery and starter cables, welding cables, large cable lugs and terminals, as well as bundles of several wires. Ten metres is sufficient for many connections, ensuring you always have tubing on hand in the workshop.

The adhesive prevents water from travelling along the conductor to the connection, making the tubing suitable for demanding environments. You can use it for wiring in vehicle undercarriages, for leads to winches, for solar panel and battery storage systems, for agricultural and construction machinery, and for electrical installations on boats.

Thread a piece of tubing onto the cable before crimping or soldering, and after completing the connection, slide it over the joint. Heat it evenly around the circumference with a hot air gun until it tightly shrinks and adhesive appears at the edges. The adhesive melts at temperatures from 100 °C. Direct the heat from the centre to the edges to ensure no air remains under the tubing, and move the cable only after it has completely cooled.

The large pack of black heat shrink tubing with adhesive with a diameter of 16 mm is a cost-effective supply for insulating thick power cables. The layer of hot melt adhesive creates a strong and waterproof seal around the connection, resistant to moisture and de-icing salt. The tubing can be easily cut with scissors and shrinks using a standard hot air gun. It is useful in garages, workshops, solar power plants, and on boats. Unused tubing can be easily stored for future use.
