The Gateron G Pro 3.0 Yellow linear switches are designed for mechanical keyboards where you desire a smooth action without a tactile bump and without a click. The yellow variant features a medium stiffness in the G Pro 3.0 series with an actuation force of 50 ± 15 gf and a bottom-out force of 67 gf, making the key slightly firmer than the red switches, yet still easy to press. The switches have 3 pins and an MX type cross stem, which fits most standard keycaps. The package contains 90 switches, sufficient for equipping a full TKL keyboard without a numeric section (87 keys) or a keyboard with a 75% layout, which has around 84 keys.
The third generation G Pro features reinforced pins that are more resistant to bending without increasing their thickness. The upper housing is transparent and, according to the manufacturer, better focuses the light, making the switches suitable for keyboards with SMD RGB backlighting, and the light is dispersed more evenly under the key compared to the previous version 2.0. The switches are factory lubricated, ensuring a smooth action right out of the box without the need for further modification. Before replacement, ensure that the keyboard has hot-swap sockets with pin holes for the switches, as they are not compatible with socket types that use switch clips. Before inserting, check that the pins are straight, and insert the switch vertically and without excessive force to avoid bending the pins. A switch puller, which is not included in the package, is useful for removing the original switches from a hot-swap keyboard.
