Gateron G Pro 3.0 Yellow linear switches are designed for mechanical keyboards where you desire a smooth operation without a tactile bump and without a click. The yellow variant features a medium resistance in the G Pro 3.0 series with an actuation force of 50 ± 15 gf and a bottom-out force of 67 gf, making the key slightly firmer than the red switches, yet still easy to press. The switches have 3 pins and a cross-shaped MX stem, compatible with most standard keycaps. The package includes 70 switches, sufficient for a complete 60 % or 65 % keyboard layout, approximately 61 to 68 keys.
The third generation G Pro introduces reinforced pins that are more resistant to bending without increasing their thickness. The top housing is transparent and, according to the manufacturer, better focuses light, making the switches suitable for keyboards with SMD RGB backlighting, and the light disperses more evenly under the key compared to the previous version 2.0. The switches are factory lubed, ensuring a smooth feel right out of the box without the need for additional adjustments. The pre-travel distance is 2.0 ± 0.6 mm, the total travel distance is up to 4.0 mm, and the spring length is 15.4 mm.

Before replacement, ensure that the keyboard has hot-swap sockets with holes for the switch pins; they are not compatible with switch sockets of the clip type. Check that the pins are straight before inserting, and insert the switch perpendicularly and without excessive force to avoid bending the pins. A switch puller, which is not included in the package, is useful for removing the original switches from a hot-swap keyboard.
