Gateron G Pro 3.0 Yellow linear switches are designed for mechanical keyboards where you want smooth action without a tactile bump and without a click. The yellow variant features a medium resistance with an actuation force of 50 ± 15 gf and a bottoming force of 67 gf, making the key slightly stiffer than red switches, yet it can still be pressed down without much effort. The switches have 3 pins and an MX type cross stem, compatible with most standard keycaps. The pack contains 100 switches, sufficient to equip a complete keyboard with a 96% layout, approximately 96 to 100 keys, or a TKL keyboard with some surplus.
The third generation G Pro introduces reinforced pins that are more resistant to bending without increasing their thickness. The top housing is transparent and, according to the manufacturer, better focuses light, making the switches suitable for keyboards with SMD RGB backlighting, and the light disperses more evenly under the key than in the previous version 2.0. The switches are factory lubed, providing a smooth action right out of the box, and no additional modifications are necessary. The pre-travel distance is 2.0 ± 0.6 mm, with a total travel distance of up to 4.0 mm, and the spring length is 15.4 mm.

Before replacing, ensure that your keyboard has hot-swap sockets with pin holes for the switches; it is not compatible with switch sockets of the clip type. Before insertion, check that the pins are straight, and insert the switch perpendicularly and without excessive force to avoid bending the pins. A switch puller, not included in the package, is useful for removing original switches from a hot-swap keyboard.
Gateron G Pro 3.0 Yellow switches will be appreciated mainly by those seeking a balanced linear action between lighter and stiffer switches. The slightly higher actuation force limits unwanted presses during typing and gaming, and the uniform action without a tactile bump allows for rapid repeated presses. The set of 100 pieces is sufficient for a complete 96% keyboard layout, and for a TKL keyboard, more than ten switches will remain as a reserve in case of damage. It is a practical choice if you want to convert a keyboard with numeric keys in a compact layout to a consistent balanced action without a tactile bump. Thanks to the factory lubrication and transparent housing, the switches are ready to use right out of the box and look great with backlighting.
