The Gateron G Pro 3.0 Silver linear switches are designed for mechanical keyboards where you want a smooth action without a tactile bump and without a click, while also achieving the fastest actuation possible. The Silver variant features a shortened actuation of 1.2 ± 0.6 mm and a working force of 45 ± 15 gf with an end force of 50 gf, allowing the key to actuate after a short and light press. The switches have 3 pins and an MX-style cross stem, compatible with most standard keycaps. The pack contains 50 switches, which is sufficient for a compact keyboard layout of around 40% or for replacing the entire alphanumeric section of a standard keyboard.

The third generation G Pro introduces reinforced pins that are more resistant to bending without increasing their thickness. The upper housing is transparent and, according to the manufacturer, better focuses light, making the switches suitable for keyboards with SMD RGB backlighting, and the light is distributed more evenly under the key than in the previous version 2.0. The switches are factory lubricated, providing a smooth action straight out of the box, and no additional adjustments are necessary. The actuation is 1.2 ± 0.6 mm, the total travel is up to 3.4 mm, and the spring length is 22 mm.

Before replacing, ensure that the keyboard has hot-swap sockets with holes for the switch pins, as they are not compatible with socket types that use a clip. Before inserting, check that the pins are straight, and insert the switch perpendicularly and without excessive force to avoid bending the pins. A switch puller, not included in the package, is useful for removing the original switches from a hot-swap keyboard.

The Gateron G Pro 3.0 Silver switches are particularly appreciated by those who desire quick keyboard response during gaming and typing. An actuation of just 1.2 mm means that the key actuates sooner than with switches that have a 2.0 mm actuation, and the fast linear action without a tactile bump allows for very rapid repeated presses. The shorter total travel of up to 3.4 mm also reduces finger movement with each press. The pack of 50 covers a compact keyboard with 40 to 48 keys, or the entire alphanumeric section of a larger keyboard. If you have a keyboard with more keys, you can equip the main typing area with Silver switches and use different switches for the remaining keys. Thanks to the factory lubrication and transparent housing, the switches are ready for use immediately after unpacking and look great with backlighting.
