Gateron G Pro 3.0 Silver linear switches are designed for mechanical keyboards where you want smooth operation without a tactile bump and without a click, while also achieving the fastest activation possible. The Silver variant features a shortened actuation point of 1.2 ± 0.6 mm and an operating force of 45 ± 15 gf with a bottom-out force of 50 gf, allowing the key to activate after a short and light press. The switches have 3 pins and an MX type cross stem, which fits most standard keycaps. The package contains 30 switches, sufficient for equipping a smaller macro keyboard or numeric keypad, or for replacing the most frequently used part of the keyboard.

The third generation of G Pro introduces reinforced pins that are more resistant to bending without increasing their thickness. The upper housing is transparent and according to the manufacturer, it better focuses the light, making the switches suitable for keyboards with SMD RGB backlighting and allowing the light to diffuse more evenly under the key than in the previous version 2.0. The switches are factory lubricated, ensuring smooth operation right out of the box without the need for additional adjustments. The actuation point is 1.2 ± 0.6 mm, the total travel is up to 3.4 mm, and the spring length is 22 mm.

Before replacement, ensure that the keyboard has hot-swap sockets with pin holes for the switches; they are not compatible with socket types that use clips. Before inserting, check that the pins are straight, and insert the switch vertically and without excessive force to avoid bending the pins. A switch puller, which is not included in the package, is useful for removing the original switches from a hot-swap keyboard.

Gateron G Pro 3.0 Silver switches are especially appreciated by those who want a quick response from their keyboard when gaming or typing. An actuation point of just 1.2 mm means the key activates sooner than with switches that have a 2.0 mm actuation point, and the fast linear travel without a tactile bump allows for very rapid repeated presses. The shorter total travel of up to 3.4 mm also reduces finger movement with each press. The set of 30 pieces is practical for replacing part of a keyboard, equipping a macro keyboard or numeric keypad, and there will be a few spare switches left over. Silver switches can also be combined with other switches on different keys if you want quick activation only on selected keys. Thanks to the factory lubrication and transparent housing, the switches are ready to use right out of the box and perform well even with backlighting.
