The Gateron G Pro 3.0 Silver linear switches are designed for mechanical keyboards where you desire smooth operation without a tactile bump or click, and the fastest actuation possible. The Silver variant features a shortened actuation distance of 1.2 ± 0.6 mm and an operating force of 45 ± 15 gf with a bottom-out force of 50 gf, so the key actuates after a short and light press. The switches have 3 pins and an MX-style cross stem, compatible with most standard keycaps. The pack contains 100 switches, which is enough to equip a full 96% keyboard layout, approximately 96 to 100 keys, or a TKL keyboard with some spare switches.

The third generation G Pro introduces reinforced pins that are more resistant to bending without increasing their thickness. The upper case is transparent and, according to the manufacturer, better focuses light, making the switches suitable for keyboards with SMD RGB backlighting, and the light disperses more evenly under the key compared to the previous version 2.0. The switches are factory lubricated, ensuring smooth operation right out of the box with no need for additional modifications. The actuation distance is 1.2 ± 0.6 mm, with a total travel distance of up to 3.4 mm, and the spring length is 22 mm.

Before replacement, ensure that the keyboard has hot-swap sockets with pin holes for the switch pins, as sockets of the switch holder type are not compatible. Before inserting, check that the pins are straight, and insert the switch vertically and without excessive force to avoid bending the pins. A switch puller, which is not included in the package, is useful for removing original switches from a hot-swap keyboard.

The Gateron G Pro 3.0 Silver switches are especially appreciated by those who desire quick keyboard response for both gaming and typing. An actuation distance of just 1.2 mm means the key actuates sooner than with switches that have a 2.0 mm actuation distance, and the fast linear action without a tactile bump allows for very rapid repeated presses. The shorter total travel distance of up to 3.4 mm also reduces finger movement with each press. The pack of 100 is sufficient for a complete 96% keyboard layout, and for a TKL keyboard, there will be more than ten switches left as a spare in case of damage.
