Gateron G Pro 3.0 Silver linear switches are designed for mechanical keyboards where you desire a smooth action without a tactile bump and without a click, while also achieving the fastest actuation possible. The Silver variant features a shortened actuation of 1.2 ± 0.6 mm and an operating force of 45 ± 15 gf with a bottoming force of 50 gf, allowing the key to actuate with a brief and light press. The switches have 3 pins and an MX type cross stem, compatible with most standard keycaps. The pack contains 10 switches, making it suitable for testing the quick linear action or for replacing several of the most frequently used keys, such as the spacebar, Enter key, or WASD keys.

The third generation of G Pro brings reinforced pins that are more resistant to bending without increasing their thickness. The top housing is transparent and, according to the manufacturer, better focuses light, making the switches suitable for keyboards with SMD RGB backlighting, and the light is distributed more evenly under the key compared to the previous version 2.0. The switches are factory lubricated, providing a smooth action straight out of the box without the need for further adjustment. The actuation is 1.2 ± 0.6 mm, with a total travel of up to 3.4 mm, and the spring length is 22 mm.

Before replacing, ensure that the keyboard has hot-swap sockets with pin holes for the switch pins; they are not compatible with socket types that use clips. Before inserting, check that the pins are straight, and insert the switch perpendicularly and without excessive force to avoid bending the pins. A switch puller, which is not included in the package, is useful for removing the original switches from a hot-swap keyboard.

Gateron G Pro 3.0 Silver switches are particularly appreciated by those who desire quick keyboard response for both gaming and typing. The actuation of just 1.2 mm means that the key actuates sooner than with switches that have a 2.0 mm actuation, and the quick linear action without a tactile bump allows for very rapid repeated presses. The shorter total travel of up to 3.4 mm also reduces finger movement with each press. The smaller pack is practical if you want to first test the Silver switches on a few keys before deciding whether to equip the entire keyboard with them. They are also suitable as replacements for several damaged or non-functional switches of the same type. Thanks to the factory lubrication and transparent housing, the switches are ready to use immediately after unpacking and will stand out well even with backlighting.
