The Gateron G Pro 3.0 Red linear switches are designed for mechanical keyboards where you want a smooth action without a tactile bump and without a click. The red variant in the G Pro 3.0 series features a lighter action with an operating force of 45 ± 15 gf and a bottoming force of 50 gf, making the key easy to press and reducing finger fatigue even during extended typing. The switches have 3 pins and an MX-style cross stem, compatible with most standard keycaps. The package contains 70 switches, sufficient for equipping an entire keyboard with a 60 % or 65 % layout, approximately 61 to 68 keys.

The third generation G Pro introduces reinforced pins that are more resistant to bending without increasing their thickness. The upper housing is transparent and, according to the manufacturer, better focuses light, making the switches suitable for keyboards with SMD RGB backlighting, and the light is distributed more evenly under the key compared to the previous version 2.0. The switches are factory lubed, ensuring a smooth action right out of the box without the need for additional modifications. The pre-travel distance is 2.0 ± 0.6 mm, and the total travel distance is up to 4.0 mm, with a spring length of 20.5 mm.

Before inserting, check that the pins are straight, and insert the switch perpendicularly and without excessive force to avoid bending the pins. A switch puller, which is not included in the package, is useful for removing the original switches from a hot-swap keyboard.
