Gateron G Pro 3.0 Red linear switches are designed for mechanical keyboards where you desire a smooth action without a tactile bump and no click. The red variant in the G Pro 3.0 series features a lighter action with an operating force of 45 ± 15 gf and a bottom-out force of 50 gf, making the key easy to press and reducing finger fatigue even during extended typing sessions. The switches have 3 pins and a cross stem type MX, which fits most standard keycaps. The package contains 110 switches, sufficient for equipping a full-sized keyboard with a 100% layout, including the numeric section, thus 104 to 108 keys.
The third generation G Pro introduces reinforced pins that are more resistant to bending without increasing their thickness. The upper housing is transparent and, according to the manufacturer, better focuses light, making the switches suitable for keyboards with SMD RGB backlighting, and the light disperses more evenly under the key compared to the previous version 2.0. The switches are factory lubricated, ensuring a smooth action right out of the box without the need for further modifications. The pre-travel distance is 2.0 ± 0.6 mm, total travel is up to 4.0 mm, and the spring length is 20.5 mm.

Before replacement, ensure that the keyboard has hot-swap sockets with holes for the switch pins, as switches are not compatible with socket types that are not pin-compatible. Before inserting, check that the pins are straight, and insert the switch perpendicularly and without excessive force to avoid bending the pins. A switch puller, which is not included in the package, is useful for removing original switches from a hot-swap keyboard.
