Gateron G Pro 3.0 Brown tactile switches are designed for mechanical keyboards where you want to feel a tactile bump on keypress without a loud click. The brown variant has a medium stiff actuation with a force of 55 ± 15 gf, making the key feel neither too light nor too heavy. The switches feature 3 pins and a cross stem type MX, compatible with most standard keycaps. The package contains 30 switches, sufficient for outfitting a smaller macro keyboard or numeric keypad, or for replacing the most commonly used keys on a keyboard.

The third generation G Pro introduces reinforced pins that are more resistant to bending without increasing their thickness. The upper housing is transparent and, according to the manufacturer, better focuses the light, making the switches suitable for keyboards with SMD RGB backlighting, and the light disperses more evenly under the key than in the previous version 2.0. The switches are factory lubricated, providing a smooth action right out of the box without the need for additional adjustments. The pre-travel is 2.0 ± 0.6 mm, total travel is up to 4.0 mm, and the spring length is 20.5 mm.

Before replacement, ensure that the keyboard has hot-swap sockets with pin holes for the switch pins, as they are not compatible with socket types that use switch clips. Before inserting, check that the pins are straight, and insert the switch vertically and without excessive force to avoid bending the pins. A switch puller, which is not included in the package, is useful for removing original switches from a hot-swap keyboard.

Gateron G Pro 3.0 Brown switches are especially appreciated by those who type a lot and want clear feedback that the key has been pressed. The tactile bump during the travel helps to recognise the actuation point, meaning the key does not need to be bottomed out, and the tactile action remains quieter than that of clicky switches. The set of 30 pieces is practical for replacing parts of a keyboard, outfitting a macro keyboard or numeric keypad, and there will even be a few spare pieces left over. Brown switches can also be combined with linear switches on other keys if you want tactile feedback only on selected keys. Thanks to the factory lubrication and transparent housing, the switches are ready to use immediately after unpacking and look great with backlighting.
