Gateron G Pro 3.0 Brown tactile switches are designed for mechanical keyboards where you want to feel a tactile bump upon pressing, but do not want a loud click. The brown variant features a medium resistance with an actuation force of 55 ± 15 gf, ensuring that the key does not feel too light or too heavy. The switches have 3 pins and an MX-type cross stem, compatible with most standard keycaps. The pack contains 100 switches, which is enough to equip a full keyboard with a 96% layout, approximately 96 to 100 keys, or a TKL keyboard with some spare.
The third generation G Pro features reinforced pins that are more resistant to bending without increasing their thickness. The top housing is transparent and, according to the manufacturer, better focuses light, making the switches suitable for keyboards with SMD RGB backlighting, and the light diffuses more evenly under the key compared to the previous version 2.0. The switches are factory lubricated, providing a smooth action right out of the box, and no additional adjustments are necessary. The pre-travel distance is 2.0 ± 0.6 mm, the total travel distance is up to 4.0 mm, and the spring length is 20.5 mm.

Before replacing, ensure that the keyboard has hot-swap sockets with holes for the switch pins, as they are not compatible with switch sockets of the clip type. Before insertion, check that the pins are straight, and insert the switch perpendicularly and without excessive force to avoid bending the pins. A switch puller, which is not included in the package, is useful for removing original switches from a hot-swap keyboard.
Gateron G Pro 3.0 Brown switches are particularly appreciated by those who type a lot and want clear feedback that a key has been pressed. The tactile bump during the travel helps to recognise the moment of actuation, so the key does not need to be bottomed out, and the tactile action remains quieter than that of clicky switches. The set of 100 pieces is sufficient for a complete installation of a 96% layout keyboard, and with a TKL keyboard, more than ten switches will remain as a reserve in case of damage. It is a practical choice if you also want to convert a keyboard with numeric keys into a uniform tactile feel in a compact layout. Thanks to the factory lubrication and transparent housing, the switches are ready to use immediately after unpacking and shine well even with backlighting.
