Gateron G Pro 3.0 Black linear switches are designed for mechanical keyboards where you desire smooth operation without a tactile bump and without a click. The black variant is among the stiffest linear switches in the G Pro 3.0 range, with an actuation force of 60 ± 15 gf and a bottom-out force of 70 gf, providing noticeable resistance and allowing your finger to stay on the key better. The switches feature 3 pins and an MX-style cross stem, compatible with most standard keycaps. The pack contains 50 switches, sufficient for a compact keyboard layout of around 40% or for replacing the entire alphanumeric section of a standard keyboard.
The third generation of G Pro introduces reinforced pins that are more resistant to bending without increasing their thickness. The upper housing is transparent and, according to the manufacturer, better focuses the light, making the switches suitable for keyboards with SMD RGB backlighting, and the light disperses more evenly beneath the key than in the previous version 2.0. The switches come factory lubed, ensuring smooth operation right out of the box without the need for additional modifications. The pre-travel distance is 2.0 ± 0.6 mm, with a total travel distance of up to 4.0 mm, and the spring length is 15.4 mm.

Before replacement, ensure that the keyboard has hot-swap sockets with pin holes for the switches, as they are not compatible with socket types that require soldering. Before inserting, check that the pins are straight, and insert the switch perpendicularly and without excessive force to avoid bending the pins. A switch puller, which is not included in the package, is useful for removing the original switches from a hot-swap keyboard.
Gateron G Pro 3.0 Black switches will be appreciated by those who prefer a stiffer linear feel and do not want the key to respond to a light touch of the finger. The higher actuation force helps reduce accidental presses while typing or gaming, and the smooth operation without a tactile bump allows for rapid repeated presses. The pack of 50 covers a compact keyboard with 40 to 48 keys, or the entire alphanumeric and numeric section of a larger keyboard. If you have a keyboard with a larger number of keys, you can equip the main section with black switches and use different switches for the remaining keys. Thanks to factory lubrication and the transparent housing, the switches are ready to use immediately after unboxing and perform well with backlighting.
