Overview
Fabric Sheet for Practising Embroidery Stitch Book with Pre-Drawn Basic Stitches Front Back Cross Stitch and Full Stitch for Beginners

The fabric sheet for practising embroidery Stitch Book is a standalone double-sided sheet featuring basic stitches that form the foundation of every embroidery project. The sheet has eight boxes with pre-drawn black lines, and each stitch is accompanied by its English name. It is suitable as a first step for complete beginners as well as a supplement to an ongoing stitch book. The pre-printed design clearly indicates where each stitch begins and how it is formed. The sheet is made from hemp fabric, which is easy to embroider.

On this sheet, you will primarily learn line and filling stitches. It includes the front stitch and its threaded and wrapped variations, the back stitch, the peking stitch, and the Holbein stitch. Additional boxes offer outline stitch, tacking stitch, fly stitch, fern stitch, cross stitch, straight stitch, and rice stitch. The right side is dedicated to full stitch, backed full stitch, long and short stitch, and free embroidery of small motifs such as bows, fans, or rabbits. The stitches follow a logical order, allowing you to smoothly transition from simple lines to fillings after mastering them. The threaded and wrapped variations demonstrate how a basic stitch can be transformed into a decorative line. In the free embroidery box, you can then try combining all the techniques you've learned.

  • Type – standalone fabric sheet for the Stitch Book sampler
  • Purpose – practice of basic hand embroidery stitches
  • Material – hemp fabric
  • Design – double-sided with eight boxes
  • Patterns – pre-drawn black lines of stitches with English names
  • Types of Stitches – including front, back, cross, straight, rice, full stitch, and long and short stitch

For embroidery, you will need embroidery threads, a needle with a larger eye, and a hoop to stretch the fabric. Full stitches and fillings are best done on tightly stretched fabric. The completed sheet can be gently hand-washed in lukewarm water and ironed from the reverse side after drying. Store it flat in a dry place between sessions. For full stitches, place the stitches closely together so that no fabric is visible between them. For beginners, two to three strands of floss are suitable.

The Stitch Book sheet with basic stitches is a great start for anyone beginning their embroidery journey. The techniques learned can then be applied to embellishing clothing, napkins, bookmarks, and gifts. The embroidered sheet can later be incorporated into a fabric stitch book or kept as a standalone sample. Embroidering on pre-drawn fabric is clear and also suitable for older children under adult supervision. Thanks to the pre-printed English names of the stitches, you can easily find instructions for each technique. Prepare your threads and needle and get started on your first box.
