The ET-74B lens hood is a replacement accessory designed for Canon telephoto lenses, ideal for outdoor photography in bright sunlight or backlighting. It is compatible with Canon RF 100-400 mm F5.6-8 IS USM and Canon EF 70-300 mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM lenses. The hood attaches to the front of the lens using a bayonet mount, allowing for easy attachment and removal with a simple twist without the need for screws. It extends in front of the front lens element, shading it from light that comes from the side or above. This reduces unwanted glare and veiling flare that can diminish contrast and colour saturation in your images.

The shape of the hood is cylindrical, which suits long telephoto lenses where the hood does not need to accommodate a wide angle of view. The hood is reversible, so after shooting, you can turn it around and attach it backwards over the lens barrel.
