The large pack of dual-walled heat shrink tubing with adhesive, with a diameter of 18 mm, is designed for electricians, car services, installation companies, and experienced DIY enthusiasts who regularly insulate joints of thick cables. The tubing has a shrink ratio of 4:1, meaning that upon heating, it shrinks to approximately a quarter of its original diameter and tightly wraps around even a joint that is significantly thicker on one end than the other. The internal layer of hot melt adhesive melts when heated, filling the space around the conductor and sealing the joint. The pack contains 10 m of tubing, which can be cut to the exact lengths needed.
The outer jacket made of polyolefin resists abrasion and protects the joint during cable bending and vibrations. The adhesive hardens upon cooling, bonding the tubing to the conductor's insulation and reinforcing the joint against pulling. The material is self-extinguishing. The 18 mm diameter is suitable for heavy power cables, battery and starter cables, welding cables, large cable lugs, connectors, and for bundles of several conductors. Due to the wide shrinkage range, one diameter can cover cables of varying thickness, and ten metres is sufficient for a large number of joints in various projects.
The adhesive prevents water from travelling along the conductor to the joint, making the tubing suitable even in damp and demanding environments. It can be used for cabling under the bonnet and in the chassis, for leads to winches, for connections to solar panels and battery storage, for construction and agricultural machinery, or for electrical installations on boats and in caravans.

Slide the required piece of tubing onto the cable before joining, and after completing the joint, move it over the centre. Heat it evenly from all sides with a heat gun until it fully shrinks and the adhesive oozes out at the edges. The adhesive melts at a temperature of 100 °C. Direct the heat from the centre towards the edges to allow air to escape from the joint, and keep the cable still until the adhesive cools and hardens.
A ten-metre supply of black adhesive tubing with a diameter of 18 mm is worthwhile wherever power joints are frequently insulated. The layer of hot melt adhesive creates a strong and waterproof covering around the joint. The tubing can be easily cut with scissors and shrinks using a standard heat gun. It is useful in car services, in electrical workshops, on construction sites, and on boats. Any unused portion can be easily stored for future use.
