Dual-Walled Heat Shrink Tubing 6 mm 2 m with Adhesive Shrink Ratio 4:1 Polyolefin Black Self-Extinguishing Sealing of Cable Joints in Cars and Boats

For reliable connections of thicker wires, there is a dual-walled heat shrink tubing with an inner diameter of 6 mm. The internal diameter before shrinking is 6 mm and, thanks to the shrink ratio of 4:1, the tubing shrinks down to 1.5 mm when heated. Inside, there is a layer of hot melt adhesive that melts upon heating and encapsulates the wire and joint. The result is an electrically insulated joint protected against moisture, corrosion, and dirt. The packaging contains 2 m of tubing, which you can cut into the necessary pieces.

The tubing has two layers. The outer layer made of polyolefin is abrasion-resistant and protects the joint when bending the cable, while the inner adhesive hardens upon cooling and reinforces the joint. After shrinking, the wall thickness is approximately 1.1 mm, with the adhesive layer being about 0.4 mm. The material is self-extinguishing. Two metres are sufficient for a number of connections during regular maintenance. The 6 mm diameter is suitable for thicker wires, cable lugs, connectors, or bundles of several thin cables. It can be used in cars, motorcycles, boats, caravans, for lighting installations, and in workshops.

Compared to single-walled tubing without adhesive, this version provides significantly better protection against moisture ingress into the joint. You will appreciate it especially for cables that are outdoors or in demanding environments, such as vehicle rear lights, winches, solar panels, garden lighting, or boat wiring.

Slide the tubing onto the wire before making the connection, and after completing the joint, move it over the centre. Heat it evenly around the circumference with a hot air gun until it tightly shrinks and the adhesive oozes from the edges. The adhesive melts at a temperature of 100 °C. Direct the heat from the centre to the edges to allow air to escape from the joint. Handle the joint only after it has cooled down.

The black dual-walled tubing with adhesive of 6 mm diameter protects the connections of thicker cables, lugs, and connectors. The inner layer of hot melt adhesive seals the joint against water and reinforces it. The 2 m long packaging is suitable for use in car workshops, on boats, and in home workshops. Cut the necessary piece, slide it onto the wire, and heat it. Store the remaining tubing with your tools for future work.
