The heat shrink tubing with adhesive inside is designed for insulating and sealing joints of thin wires in areas where the joint must withstand moisture and vibrations. It has an internal diameter of 4 mm and a shrink ratio of 4:1, meaning it shrinks down to 1 mm when heated and can grip uneven surfaces. The layer of hot melt adhesive melts upon heating and fills all gaps between the tubing and the conductor. The joint is then protected against water, corrosion, and dirt ingress. The package contains 3 m of black tubing.

The construction of the tubing is double-walled. The outer layer made of polyolefin provides electrical insulation and abrasion resistance, while the internal adhesive seals and reinforces the joint. After shrinking, the wall thickness reaches approximately 1.0 mm, of which about 0.4 mm consists of adhesive. The material is self-extinguishing. With a length of 3 m, you have tubing on hand for larger wiring modifications, such as when installing auxiliary lights, radios, or sockets in cars, repairing boat electrical systems, or connecting LED strips. You can also use the tubing to repair areas where the conductor insulation is worn or to cover and seal the end of an unused cable to prevent moisture ingress.

The procedure is simple. Cut the tubing into pieces slightly longer than the joint and slide it onto the conductor before making the connection. After completing the joint, slide the tubing into place and heat it with a hot air gun from all sides. The adhesive melts at a temperature of 100 °C, so continue heating until the tubing tightly shrinks and adhesive appears at the edges. Do not touch the joints until completely cooled. When heating, work from the centre to the edges to allow air to escape from the joint and the adhesive to flow evenly.

This adhesive tubing is suitable wherever you need to protect wire joints up to a diameter of 4 mm from moisture and mechanical stress. It is applicable in automotive electronics, on boats, for outdoor wiring, and in the construction of electronic devices. The strong double-walled construction creates a durable casing that withstands bending and vibrations. The black colour blends discreetly with the wiring. The package containing 3 m of tubing is a practical supply for any workshop, garage, or boat equipment. Simply cut pieces with scissors to the length of the joint.
