The braided heat-shrink tubing combines a flexible textile braid with the ability to shrink when heated. This piece has an internal diameter of 6 mm and a length of 8 m, making it suitable for standard cables, power leads, and smaller cable bundles. When heated with hot air, the braid contracts at a ratio of 2:1 to approximately 3 mm in diameter, tightly enclosing the protected wiring. The braided surface is flexible, highly resistant to abrasion, and according to the manufacturer, helps to dampen cable noise. Eight metres in one continuous piece is appreciated during larger cable management tasks in the workshop, in the distribution board, or in the car, when you need various lengths of tubing.
Shrinking begins at approximately 80 °C and the tubing achieves full shrinkage around 120 °C. A hot air gun can be used for heating, and the manufacturer also mentions the option of using a lighter. After cooling, a continuous textile layer remains on the cable, protecting the insulation from mechanical damage, abrasion, and heat. The material is self-extinguishing with a flammability rating of VW-1 and withstands operating temperatures from −40 to +150 °C, making it suitable for use in vehicles or in electrical appliances that heat up during operation. The tubing protects joints, cable terminations, and extended leads, and allows you to bundle cables from electronics into one organised package.

Select the size based on the diameter of the cable. The manufacturer recommends tubing approximately 3 mm larger than the diameter of the protected wiring. For flat cables or bundles with a rectangular cross-section, add the width and height together, multiply the result by two, divide by 3.14, and add 3 mm. You will receive eight metres of tubing as one continuous piece, from which you can cut sections to the exact length you need before shrinking. Slide it onto the cable before connecting the connectors, move it to the desired position, and evenly heat it along its entire length.
The braided heat-shrink tubing with a diameter of 6 mm and a length of 8 m is a practical helper for repairs as well as new electrical installations. An eight-metre supply is sufficient to protect multiple cable bundles or several longer leads without the need to purchase additional pieces. The textile surface protects the wires from abrasion and, after shrinking with hot air, keeps the cables neatly together.
