Braided heat shrink tubing combines a flexible textile sleeve with the ability to shrink when heated. This piece has an internal diameter of 6 mm and a length of 5 m, making it suitable for standard cables, power leads, and smaller cable bundles. When heated with hot air, the sleeve shrinks at a ratio of 2:1 down to approximately 3 mm in diameter, tightly encasing the protected wiring. The braided surface is flexible, highly resistant to abrasion, and according to the manufacturer, helps to dampen cable noise. Five metres in one continuous piece is sufficient for managing wiring for a computer, television, or workstation, as well as for several repairs in a car.
Shrinking begins at approximately 80 °C and the tubing achieves full shrinkage around 120 °C. A hot air gun is suitable for heating, and the manufacturer also mentions the possibility of using a lighter. Once cooled, a continuous textile layer remains on the cable, protecting the insulation from mechanical damage, abrasion, and heat. The material is self-extinguishing with a flammability rating of VW-1 and withstands operating temperatures from −40 to +150 °C, making it suitable for use in vehicles or electrical appliances that heat up during operation. The tubing protects connections, cable terminations, and extended leads, allowing you to bundle cables from electronics into one organised bundle.

Select the size according to the diameter of the cable. The manufacturer recommends a tubing approximately 3 mm larger than the diameter of the protected wiring. For flat cables or bundles with a rectangular cross-section, add the width and height, multiply the result by two, divide by 3.14, and add 3 mm. You will receive five metres of tubing as one continuous piece, from which you can cut sections to your exact needs before shrinking. Slide it onto the cable before connecting the connectors, position it where required, and evenly heat it along its entire length.
The braided heat shrink tubing with a diameter of 6 mm and a length of 5 m is a handy solution for home and small workshop use. Five metres will cover the wiring for a computer setup, home cinema, or router, with some left over for minor repairs. The textile surface protects the wires from abrasion, and after shrinking with hot air, it keeps the cables neatly together. Thanks to its self-extinguishing properties and resistance up to +150 °C, it can be used in electronics, automation, electrical appliances, and vehicles.
