Braided heat shrink tubing combines a flexible textile braid with the ability to shrink when heated. This piece has an internal diameter of 6 mm and a length of 3 m, making it suitable for standard cables, power leads, and smaller cable bundles. When heated with hot air, the braid shrinks at a ratio of 2:1 to approximately 3 mm in diameter, tightly encasing the protected wiring. The braided surface is flexible, resists abrasion well, and according to the manufacturer, helps to dampen cable noise. Three metres in one continuous piece is useful for tidying up wiring at a workbench, in a junction box, or in a vehicle.
Shrinking begins at around 80 °C and the tubing reaches full shrinkage at about 120 °C. A hot air gun can be used for heating, and the manufacturer also mentions the possibility of using a lighter. Once cooled, a continuous textile layer remains on the cable, protecting the insulation from mechanical damage, abrasion, and heat. The material is self-extinguishing with a flame class of VW-1 and withstands operating temperatures from −40 to +150 °C, making it suitable for use in vehicles or electrical appliances that heat up during operation. The tubing protects connections, cable terminations, and extended wires, allowing you to bundle electronics into a single organised unit.

Select the size according to the diameter of the cable. The manufacturer recommends tubing approximately 3 mm larger than the diameter of the protected wire. For flat cables or bundles with a rectangular cross-section, add the width and height together, multiply the result by two, divide by 3.14, and add 3 mm. You will receive three metres of tubing as one continuous piece, from which you can cut sections to your exact needs before shrinking. Slide it onto the cable before connecting the connectors, move it to the desired position, and evenly heat it along its entire length.
