The braided heat shrink tubing combines a flexible textile braid with the ability to shrink with heat. This piece has an internal diameter of 6 mm and a length of 20 m, making it suitable for standard cables, power leads, and smaller cable bundles. When heated with hot air, the braid shrinks at a ratio of 2:1 to approximately 3 mm in diameter, tightly enclosing the protected wiring. The braided surface is flexible, highly resistant to abrasion, and according to the manufacturer, helps to dampen cable noise. Twenty metres in one continuous piece represents stock for workshops, services, or larger electrical installations where the tubing is consumed continuously.
Shrinking begins at around 80 °C and the tubing reaches full shrinkage at about 120 °C. A hot air gun can be used for heating, and the manufacturer also mentions the option of using a lighter. Once cooled, a continuous textile layer remains on the cable, protecting the insulation from mechanical damage, abrasion, and heat. The material is self-extinguishing with a flame class of VW-1 and withstands operating temperatures from −40 to +150 °C, making it suitable for use in cars or in electrical appliances that heat up during operation. The tubing protects joints, cable terminations, and extended leads, and allows you to bundle cables from electronics into one tidy package.

Select the size according to the diameter of the cable. The manufacturer recommends tubing approximately 3 mm larger than the diameter of the protected wiring. For flat cables or bundles with a rectangular cross-section, add the width and height together, multiply the result by two, divide by 3.14, and add 3 mm. You will receive twenty metres of tubing as one continuous piece, from which you can cut sections to your exact needs before shrinking. Slide it onto the cable before connecting the connectors, move it to the desired position, and evenly heat it along its entire length.
