Braided heat shrink tubing combines a flexible textile sleeve with the ability to shrink when heated. This piece has an internal diameter of 6 mm and a length of 10 m, making it suitable for standard cables, power wires, and smaller cable bundles. When heated with hot air, the sleeve shrinks at a ratio of 2:1 to approximately 3 mm in diameter, tightly encasing the protected wiring. The braided surface is flexible, highly abrasion-resistant, and according to the manufacturer, helps to dampen cable noise. Ten metres in one continuous piece is sufficient for extensive cable management, such as when refurbishing a workbench, distribution board, or during installation in a vehicle.
Shrinking begins at approximately 80 °C and the tubing achieves full shrinkage around 120 °C. A hot air gun is recommended for heating, and the manufacturer also mentions the possibility of using a lighter. Once cooled, a continuous textile layer remains on the cable, protecting the insulation from mechanical damage, abrasion, and heat. The material is self-extinguishing with a flammability rating of VW-1 and can withstand operating temperatures from −40 to +150 °C, making it suitable for use in vehicles or electrical appliances that heat up during operation. The tubing protects joints, cable terminations, and extended wires, allowing you to bundle cables from electronics into one organised package.

Select the size according to the diameter of the cable. The manufacturer recommends tubing approximately 3 mm larger than the diameter of the protected wiring. For flat cables or bundles with a rectangular cross-section, add the width and height together, multiply the result by two, divide by 3.14, and add 3 mm. You will receive ten metres of tubing as one continuous piece, from which you can cut sections to your exact needs before shrinking. Slide it onto the cable before connecting the connectors, move it to the desired position, and evenly heat it along its entire length.
