Braided heat shrink tubing combines a flexible textile braid with the ability to shrink with heat. This piece has an internal diameter of 4 mm and a length of 20 m, making it suitable for thin wires, individual cables, and smaller cable bundles. When heated with hot air, the braid shrinks at a ratio of 2:1 and tightly wraps around the protected wiring. The braided surface is flexible, highly abrasion-resistant, and according to the manufacturer, helps to dampen cable noise. Twenty metres in one continuous piece provides a supply for workshops, services, or larger electrical installations where the tubing is consumed continuously.
Shrinking begins at approximately 80 °C and the tubing achieves full shrinkage around 120 °C. A hot air gun can be used for heating, and the manufacturer also mentions the option of using a lighter. Once cooled, a continuous textile layer remains on the cable, protecting the insulation from mechanical damage, abrasion, and heat. The material is self-extinguishing with a flammability rating of VW-1 and withstands operating temperatures from −40 to +150 °C, making it suitable for use in cars or electrical appliances that heat up during operation. The tubing protects connections, cable terminations, and extended wires, and allows you to bundle several thin cables into one neat package.
- Type – braided textile heat shrink tubing for cables

- Shrinking Temperature – starts at 80 °C, full shrinkage at 120 °C
- Operating Temperature – −40 to +150 °C
- Melting Point – 240 °C
- Flame Resistance – self-extinguishing, class VW-1
- Properties – flexibility, abrasion resistance, thermal insulation, noise reduction
- Shrinking Method – hot air gun or lighter
- Application – electronics, electrical appliances, automation, car wiring, cable bundles
- Contents – 1 x braided heat shrink tubing with an internal diameter of 4 mm and a length of 20 m
Select the size according to the diameter of the cable. The manufacturer recommends tubing approximately 3 mm larger than the diameter of the protected wiring. For flat cables or bundles with a rectangular cross-section, add the width and height, multiply the result by two, divide by 3.14, and add 3 mm. The twenty metres of tubing is provided as one continuous piece, so you can cut it to the required lengths before shrinking. Slide it onto the cable before connecting the connectors, move it to the desired position, and evenly heat it along its entire length.
The braided heat shrink tubing with a diameter of 4 mm and a length of 20 m is a suitable supply for workshops, electronics services, and DIY enthusiasts who frequently work with wiring. Twenty metres is advantageous for extensive wiring modifications, model building, or repeated repairs when you need to have material readily available. The textile surface protects the wires from abrasion, and after shrinking with hot air, it holds the cables tightly and neatly together. Thanks to its self-extinguishing properties and resistance up to +150 °C, it can be used in electronics, automation, electrical appliances, and cars.
