Braided heat shrink tubing combines the properties of classic heat shrink tubing and durable textile braiding. This piece has an internal diameter of 20 mm and a length of 50 m, making it suitable for very thick power cables, wide bundles of wires, and thick conductors. When heated with hot air, the braid shrinks at a ratio of 2:1 and tightly envelops the protected wiring. The braided surface is flexible, highly resistant to abrasion, and according to the manufacturer, helps reduce cable noise. The fifty-metre roll is a convenient supply for service providers, electricians, and large cable installations with very thick wiring.
Shrinkage begins at approximately 80 °C and full shrinkage is achieved around 120 °C. A hot air gun is sufficient for heating, and the manufacturer also mentions the possibility of using a lighter. Once cooled, the tubing forms a continuous textile layer that protects the insulation of the wires from mechanical damage, abrasion, and heat. The material is self-extinguishing with a flammability rating of VW-1 and withstands operating temperatures from −40 to +150 °C, making it suitable for wiring in cars or electrical appliances that heat up during operation. The tubing can be used to protect joints, terminate cables, extend conductors, and bundle several thin cables into one tidy bundle.

When selecting the size, follow the diameter of the cable. The manufacturer recommends choosing tubing that is approximately 3 mm larger than the diameter of the protected wiring. For flat cables or bundles with a rectangular cross-section, the required diameter is calculated by adding the width and height, multiplying by two, dividing by 3.14, and adding 3 mm. The tubing is supplied in one piece, so you can cut it to the exact lengths you need before shrinking. Slide it onto the cable before connecting the connectors, then move it to the desired location and evenly heat it along its entire length.
