Adhesive Lined Heat Shrink Tubing 8 mm 10 m 4:1 Ratio Dual Wall Polyolefin Insulation Black Supply for Automotive Wiring and Electrical Installations

The large pack of dual-wall adhesive lined heat shrink tubing with an 8 mm diameter is intended for workshops and for work with a larger number of joints. Before shrinking the tubing has an inner diameter of 8 mm and thanks to the 4:1 shrink ratio it shrinks down to 2 mm when heated. The inner layer of hot-melt adhesive melts with heat and seals the joint from the inside. The finished joint is insulated, resistant to moisture and withstands movement and vibration well. The package contains 10 m of tubing, which you can cut into pieces of any length.

The polyolefin outer jacket protects the joint against abrasion, dirt and mechanical stress. After cooling, the adhesive layer hardens, bonds the tubing to the wire and reinforces the joint. After shrinking the wall is approximately 1.2 mm thick, of which about 0.5 mm is adhesive. The material is self-extinguishing. The 8 mm diameter suits thicker power wires, cable lugs, larger connectors and bundles of thinner cables. Ten metres pays off for car repair shops, electricians and anyone who installs or repairs wiring regularly and wants to always have tubing at hand.

Thanks to the adhesive, water cannot get along the wire into the joint, so the tubing is also suitable for demanding environments. Use it for vehicle underbody wiring, trailer lighting, marine electrical installations, winch and pump power leads or outdoor wiring.

Slide the tubing onto the wire before soldering or crimping and, once the joint is finished, move it over its middle. Heat it evenly all around with a heat gun until it shrinks tightly and adhesive appears at the edges. The adhesive melts from 100 °C. Heat from the middle towards the ends so that air escapes from the joint, and handle the joint only after it has completely cooled.

The ten-metre pack of black adhesive lined heat shrink tubing with an 8 mm diameter is a cost-effective supply for insulating thicker cables. The layer of hot-melt adhesive creates a waterproof joint that withstands moisture and road salt. The tubing is easy to cut and shrinks with an ordinary heat gun. It is useful in a service shop, in the workshop, in the car and on a boat. Keep the leftover tubing for further work.
