This heat shrink tubing with an inner adhesive layer and a 12 mm diameter is designed for insulating joints on thick cables, ring terminals and connectors. Thanks to the 4:1 shrink ratio it tightens from 12 mm down to 3 mm when heated, so it grips even uneven and gradually tapering joints closely. The hot-melt adhesive inside flows when heated, fills the space between the wire and the tubing and closes off the joint. The result is an insulated joint protected against moisture and dirt. The pack contains 3 m of tubing, which you cut into the pieces you need.
The tubing has two layers. The polyolefin outer jacket resists abrasion and protects the joint during bending and vibration, while the inner adhesive sets as it cools and reinforces the joint against pull-out. After shrinking the wall is about 1.4 mm thick, of which the adhesive layer makes up roughly 0.5 mm. The material is self-extinguishing. This diameter suits thick power cables, battery cables, large ring terminals and bundling several wires together. Three metres are enough to repair the wiring in a car and for several smaller jobs in the workshop.
Because the adhesive stops water from entering the joint along the wire, the tubing performs well outdoors and in damp conditions. It is suitable for underbody wiring, power feeds to pumps and winches, outdoor lighting, solar installations or the electrical installation on a boat.

Slide the tubing onto the cable in advance and, after joining the wires, move it over the centre of the joint. Heat it evenly all round with a heat gun until it has fully shrunk and adhesive emerges at the edges. The adhesive melts from 100 °C. Start heating in the middle and work towards the edges so that air escapes from the joint. Only move the joint once it has cooled and the adhesive has set.
Three metres of black dual-wall tubing with a 12 mm diameter are useful for insulating thick wires and ring terminals. The inner adhesive layer seals the joint and at the same time reinforces it against pulling. The tubing is easily trimmed to any length with scissors and shrunk with a heat gun. It is handy in a car repair shop, when fitting out a motorhome, on a boat and in a home workshop. Keep the unused piece for the next repair.

If the goods need to be sent back, we will refund the postage for a valid claim (just provide the receipt).
