Overview
24 mm Chisel with Flat Blade, 110 mm Long, Made of Chrome-Vanadium Steel with Ergonomic Non-Slip Handle for Dowels and Mortises

The flat chisel with a width of 24 mm is designed for tasks where a narrow chisel is insufficient, and a wide one would be unnecessarily cumbersome. The blade length of 110 mm features a straight edge with a bevel on one side, making it easy to align with a marking gauge and create straight walls and bottoms of mortises. It is useful for mortising hinges and fittings, aligning dowels, and adjusting joints in wooden constructions. It is suitable for working with both soft and harder woods. Supplied as a single tool, it will expand your workshop equipment.

The blade is made of chrome-vanadium steel, which is used in workshop tools for its strength. The steel tang runs through the entire handle and ends in a metal butt, allowing the blows from the mallet to be transmitted directly to the blade, preventing strain on the handle. The handle, measuring 125 mm in length, is shaped to fit the palm and covered with non-slip TPR material, ensuring a firm grip even during extended use. The combination of orange and black colours makes it easy to locate the tool among other equipment. The width of 24 mm also corresponds well with standard dimensions of hinges and locking fittings, allowing for mortising in just a few strokes without unnecessary measuring.

Before mortising, secure the workpiece with a clamp or in a vice and accurately mark the outline of the future hole. First, cut the fibres perpendicularly along the mark, and only then remove material inside the outline. Work in thin layers and always hold the edge away from yourself. After finishing work, clean the tool, dry the blade, and store it so that the edge does not touch other metal tools. Maintain sharpness by regularly honing on a sharpening stone.

The 24 mm chisel is a reliable assistant in both carpentry and joinery workshops, where joints and mortising are frequently performed. The sturdy steel blade and ergonomic handle allow for precise manual work as well as stronger blows from a mallet. Weighing 223 g, it lies steadily in the hand and is easy to control. It is suitable for making and renovating furniture, repairing doors, windows, and stairs, as well as building pergolas and other wooden structures. Thanks to the metal butt and through tang, it is ready for long-term use in the workshop. It will be appreciated by both DIY enthusiasts and experienced craftsmen.
