Overview
16 mm Chisel with Flat Blade 110 mm Made of Chrome-Vanadium Steel and Non-Slip Handle for Chiselling and Mortise Adjustments

The chisel with a flat blade width of 16 mm is designed for chiselling, trimming, and adjusting wooden joints. The blade measures 110 mm, making it easy to handle while also reaching deeper mortises. The flat edge with a bevel on one side removes thin shavings and leaves a clean, flat surface. The width of 16 mm is suitable for larger mortises, lock grooves, and lock plates or for adjusting recessed joints in furniture construction. The chisel is supplied as a single piece, so you acquire exactly the width that you need in your workshop.

The blade material is chrome-vanadium steel, which is commonly used in quality hand tools. The steel tang runs through the handle's entire length and ends with a metal butt, allowing you to strike the chisel with a hammer without worry. The handle, measuring 125 mm, has an ergonomic shape and a rubberised TPR surface that does not slip even during prolonged use. The bright orange colour with black elements makes it easy to locate on the workbench or in the tool box. The wider blade is also effective for flattening surfaces and removing overhangs where a narrower chisel is insufficient.

Secure the workpiece firmly before starting, to prevent it from moving during hammer strikes, and mark the boundaries of the mortise in advance. For rough material removal, use a mallet and first remove most of the material from the centre, then finish the walls and bottom with fine manual strokes. After finishing, wipe the blade, remove moisture, and sharpen as necessary. If the chisel is not used for an extended period, coat the blade with a thin layer of oil as protection against moisture. Store the chisel separately from other tools to prevent the edge from hitting other metal objects during transport and remaining sharp.

The 16 mm chisel is a handy middle ground between narrow detail tools and wide chisels for large surfaces. The tool steel blade is complemented by a handle that fits well in the palm and is designed for use with a mallet. Weighing 192 g, it is well-balanced and the tool is firmly held even during precise guiding. You will find it useful in furniture making, door and window repairs, as well as in carpentry work. It is suitable for both professional workshops and for the home DIY enthusiast.
